Lowryder #2 followed as the successor to the Joint Doctor’s original Lowryder. It combined the original genetics with Santa Maria, an Indica/Sativa hybrid from Brazil. This Brazilian parent was known for abundant resin production, exotic flavor, and soaring effects.
Later, we decided that a true legend no longer needed a number. As a result, Lowryder #2 became Lowryder IBL—the name used for the strain today. IBL stands for “inbred line” and reflects the work required to preserve its defining genetic traits.
In 2010, High Times included Lowryder #2 among its Top 10 Canadian Strains. Today, the strain is known as Lowryder IBL.
Lowryder IBL is available in both feminized and regular varieties.
Compared with the original Lowryder, Lowryder IBL offers greater strength, higher yield potential, and richer flavor. This stable, compact strain performs well indoors and outdoors. Its manageable size also suits growers with limited space or those looking for quick results.

After approximately 65 days from seed, it produces large, dense buds with a distinctive bittersweet scent. Their aroma is richer than that of the original Lowryder. Moreover, the plant requires neither a separate flowering room nor a change in the light cycle.
Outdoors, Lowryder IBL matures faster than photoperiod varieties. It can also perform well in harsh, cooler climates. Therefore, it has become particularly popular among growers in northern regions.
