Lowryder #2 came next as the successor to the Joint Doctor’s original Lowryder. It combined the original genetics with Santa Maria, an Indica/Sativa hybrid from Brazil known for abundant resin production, exotic flavor, and soaring effects.
We later decided that a true legend no longer needed a number. Lowryder #2 therefore became Lowryder IBL—the name used for the strain today. IBL stands for “inbred line,” reflecting the work done to preserve and stabilize its defining genetic traits.
In 2010, Lowryder #2—the strain now known as Lowryder IBL—was included in High Times magazine’s list of the Top 10 Canadian Strains.
Lowryder IBL is now available in both feminized and regular varieties.
Lowryder IBL improves on the original Lowryder with greater strength, yield potential, and richer flavor. This stable, compact strain performs well indoors and outdoors. Its manageable size and fast life cycle make it ideal for growers working with limited space or looking for quick results.
One of Lowryder IBL’s strongest qualities is its resilience. It is an easy-to-grow strain capable of handling less-than-perfect growing conditions.
In around nine weeks, it produces large, dense buds with a richer aroma than the original Lowryder and a distinctive bittersweet scent. Like the original Lowryder, it does not require a separate flowering room or a change in the light cycle.
Outdoors, Lowryder IBL matures faster than photoperiod varieties and can perform in harsh, cooler climates, making it particularly popular among growers in northern regions.
